The Roundup

Another intense week nationally (and globally), so below will be a mix of relevant articles mixed with some fun things to give you a break. This is a round up of the most interesting things I saw online this past week. I follow what I’d consider to be a large variety of interests, so I hope you find something interesting below, too.

Current Events: Amid upheaval and protests, heartbreaking art: Stolen (h/t kottke). Also: we talk about this in my class, but please know you can be tracked with your phone (scary stuff, but good to know about it if you go out). If you do go out, please wear a mask.

COVID-19: What Does it Meant to Have Recovered from COVID-19? (Please…just, try your hardest to not get it.)

Archaeology Tech: Archaeologists Discover Another Lost Mayan Monument in Mexico (lidar is pretty cool)

Podcast: I don’t listen to many podcasts (especially now that we aren’t driving anywhere), but I keep meaning to listen to 13 Minutes to the Moon

Hidden Treasure Found: Famous Forrest Fenn Treasure Found in the Rocky Mountains (I remember when this was hidden; crazy stuff)

Weirdly Nice to Watch: Giant Teddy Bears Riding a Roller Coaster in the Netherlands (no caption needed)

Called It: Kiddie pools are the new Instagram status symbol and are being resold on eBay for over 300% of their original value (h/t my mom) (back in April I started telling people to buy inflatable pools – especially if they have kids or like going to the pool in the summer – since it would be the next thing to sell out, after the TP crazy was done)

Drone Photography: A drone tour of the National Museum of the US Air Force (we have been to this museum and this is a cool way to check it out!)

And a funny to end on…
